Concrete Fence Posts Near Gainsborough

Steel-reinforced slotted posts that will outlast timber many times over. No rotting, no painting, no maintenance.

What Are Slotted Concrete Fence Posts?

Our concrete fence posts (also known as slotted concrete posts or reinforced concrete fence posts) are pre-manufactured with vertical slots running down two opposing sides. These slots are designed to hold fence panels and gravel boards, creating a strong, rigid fencing structure that requires minimal tools and skills to install.

Our posts are steel-reinforced throughout, which gives them the strength and durability to handle the stresses of wind, weather, and soil movement year after year.

Available in a range of heights to suit different fence panel sizes, our concrete posts are ready to go from stock. No waiting around, no special orders needed. Team them with our concrete gravel boards and concrete slabs for a complete fencing solution.

Why Concrete Beats Timber

Longevity

A quality concrete post will last decades. Timber posts rot within 10 to 15 years, especially in the wet clay soils across Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.

Zero Maintenance

Concrete needs no painting, no treatment, no ongoing care whatsoever. Once it is in the ground, you can forget about it.

Better Value

You will not need to replace posts every ten years or pay for ongoing maintenance. Buy once, and they last the life of your property.

Superior Strength

Steel-reinforced concrete is strong and rigid. It handles wet clay soils better than timber and resists movement, leaning, and rot.

Available Sizes and How They Work

We keep a range of post heights in stock to suit common fence panel sizes. The most common heights are 8 feet (for 6-foot fence panels with a gravel board underneath) and 6 feet (for 4-foot to 5-foot fence panels). We deliver across South Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire, and North Nottinghamshire, including Gainsborough, Retford, Worksop, Doncaster, and surrounding areas.

The slotted design means your panels and gravel boards slide straight in from the top of the post. Simply place your first two posts in the ground, then drop in a gravel board and fence panels between them, add your second post, and repeat along the run of your fence. Straightforward, easy and quick.

Why Choose Premier Concrete Fence Posts

Posts that will not rot, warp or need treating

Concrete is inert. It does not rot, warp, or degrade when exposed to moisture and sunlight. Once installed, it will serve you for decades without maintenance.

Steel reinforced for strength that lasts decades

Every post is reinforced with steel, giving it the strength to resist ground movement, wind loads, and the weight of panels without flexing or failing over time.

Slotted design makes fitting quicker and easier

The panels slot straight in. A straightforward build that does not need specialist skills or tools.

Always in stock, no waiting around

We keep good stock levels of our most common post sizes. If you need them, we almost certainly have them ready to collect or deliver to you today.

Concrete Fence Post Questions Answered

As a guide, one third of the total post length should be buried in the ground. For an 8ft post, that means roughly 2ft 6in below ground level. In soft or clay soils, go a little deeper for added stability.
For standard 6ft fence panels with a gravel board underneath, you need an 8ft concrete post. This gives the correct height above ground when the post is set correctly. For 5ft panels with a gravel board, a 7ft post is usually right. If you are unsure, give us a ring on 07989 192742 and we will point you in the right direction.
No. One of the biggest advantages of concrete over timber is zero maintenance. Concrete posts never rot, never need painting, and will not be attacked by insects or fungal decay. Once they are in the ground, they are there for decades.
A simple rule: one post per panel, plus one extra at each end of the run. So for a straight run of six panels you need seven posts. If your fence has corners or changes direction, add one post per corner. When planning your order, measure your total fence length and divide by the panel width (usually 1.83m for standard 6ft panels) to get your panel count, then add one. Not sure? Yes. Most people can install slotted concrete fence posts with basic tools and a bit of help. You need post mix concrete, a spirit level, a spade, and someone to help with lifting. The slotted design means your fence panels and gravel boards simply drop straight in from the top once the posts are set.
